The Southern Arc Islands Football League is the main league-format football competition in the Southern Arc Islands. It is managed and ran by the Southern Arc Islands Association of Football Clubs, as part of the Southern Arc Islands Football Association. It consists of three nationwide divisions of twelve teams each, and a set of regional divisions.

There are several clubs in the Southern Arc Islands Football League which are not actually based in the Southern Arc Islands, including FC Yukon and Iqaluit Nunavut Comets in the Second Division, and St. John's FC in the Third Division. These teams, however, do have venues in the Southern Arc Islands, where they sometimes play their home matches because of travel reasons.

The Southern Arc Islands Football League was founded in 1978. From the 1986 season onwards, it was split into the First and Second Divisions. In 1991, the amateur Regional Leagues were created and linked with the SAIFL. In 1999, the Third Division was created between the Second Division and the Regional Leagues.
