Grand Island is by far the largest island of the Southern Arc Islands. It lies in the southern half of the chain. It is the second most populous, after Arc Island. Major cities on the island include New Cardiff, the oldest major settlement in the nation, founded by the British.

There are three independent cities on the island: New Cardiff, Liedho and Tironian. The island is also further subdivided into districts.
